9/25 - County Auditor Hosting Budgetary Law Workshop

Ashtabula County Auditor Roger Corlett will be hosting a workshop next week on Ohio budgetary law. The aim is to provide local elected officials and their staff with training and resources in the budget process. The presentation will be conducted by the Local Government Services Section of the Ohio Auditor of State. The session will be held October 5th at the county engineer’s office in Jefferson.

“I, along with the treasurer and prosecutor, are members of the County Budget Commission where we review local government budgets and certify their Certificate of Estimated Resources to them. While we provide guidance and technical advice to the local officials now, the training will expand on the legal issues,” says Corlett.

This comes less than a month after Roger Corlett received the Ohio Auditor of State Award for “exemplary financial reporting” in the State’s recent financial audit of the county.
