Damaged Property Relief

Many Ashtabula County residents have been impacted by recent storms and heavy winds. Damage which includes fire, trees falling on buildings, or other property harm could result in temporary relief in property value and assessments through the County Auditor’s Office shared Auditor David Thomas.

“If a tree fell on your garage, or the recent storms damaged your roof, please contact our office to speak with staff and learn what options are legally available to you for relief,” explained Auditor Thomas. Property damage can be investigated by County Auditor staff and a change in property values may be granted while repairs are being made on the property.

This relief is available to all forms of property and any damage which may influence market value. To learn more, residents are encouraged to visit the County Auditor’s website at www.auditor.ashtabulacounty.us or call 440-576-3749 to apply or learn more.
