Access to Courthouse Under Construction 19th-21st
For Immediate Release: December 12, 2023
Ashtabula County Courthouse Undergoing Minor Construction; Access to the Courthouse Will Be Temporarily Changed
Jefferson, OH – The Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners announced today an upcoming construction project that will affect public access to the County Courthouse.
On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, and Wednesday, December 20, 2023, the main doors to the Courthouse, located on the west side of the building adjacent to the main parking lot, are being replaced. As a result, all public access to the Courthouse must be made on the east side of the courthouse. Security personnel and Maintenance personnel will be assisting the public with directions to the east side entrance. Handicap parking will also be affected, and those persons needing handicap parking are encouraged to use the small parking lot located off of West Jefferson Street across from Community First Credit Union. This parking lot will be handicap parking only during the construction period.
Construction is expected to last two days and should be complete by end of business on Wednesday, December 21, 2023.
We understand and recognize this will be a significant inconvenience for anyone needing to come to the Courthouse on those days. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of contractor availability to complete this important and long-awaited project. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Thank you.
