Budget Commission- Local Government Fund Hearing

  1. In 2023 the Ohio Legislature passed HB 33 which included a provision mandating County Budget Commissions to hold a hearing every 5 years to receive feedback on the allocation percentages of the Local Government Fund. The Budget Commission is not required to take action at this hearing but hear ideas and public comment. HB 33 does not mandate a change in the formula, but the discussion from members of local governments. The process for changing the local government formula is extensive and lengthy- changes require the approval of the county, largest subdivision, and majority of remaining entities. Enclosed is the breakout percentages of the local government fund which each entity receives.

 

This is a public meeting and the public is welcome to attend. Attached is the current percentage breakout and the estimated revenue for 2025 from the Local Government Fund.
