1st Annual Bark in the Park to be held in Jefferson
Jefferson- Ashtabula County Auditor David Thomas will be holding a first annual Bark in the Park dog festival to promote dog licenses and area doggy vendors. The event will be Thursday, July 15th from 3pm-6:30pm in front the of the Old County Courthouse at 25 West Jefferson Street in Jefferson.
Organizations which will be there include: Ashtabula County Animal Protective League, Ruff Life On The Lake - Restaurant and Wine & Beer Bar, Windsor Fire Department Fire & Rescue Dogs, NEO K9 Solutions, Silver Fur K9 Rescue & Retirement, Safe Dog Underground Fence LLC, Pet Supplies Plus - Ashtabula, OH, Luna's Barkin Bakery, Sheriff Bill Niemi's K9 Officers, Shanti Yoga Love LLC /Yoga Practice With Leah Hartman, Four Paws Pet Services, and State Farm Insurance!
“The Auditor’s Office handles dog licenses for over 10,000 pups in Ashtabula County and we are excited to be having this opportunity for our local pet owners to chat with vendors and have fun too,” shared Auditor Thomas.
Visitors to this free event will have the opportunity to check out the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League and Silver Fur K9 Rescue & Retirement to find their perfect companion. Other vendors will include Pet Supplies Plus-Ashtabula, Lunas Bakery, Safe Dog Underground Fence LLC, and more.
Activities will include yoga with Shanti Yoga Love Studio, swimming pools for dogs, sidewalk chalk, raffle baskets, music, and more.
“We’re looking forward to a great day to celebrate responsible dog ownership and help local residents see great options for taking care of their pet,” said Auditor Thomas. “Everyone is invited to stop in during the afternoon and visit!”
Dog licenses will also be sold at the Bark in the Park afternoon. Licenses are $12 and give legal ownership and protection to an individual’s dog should they become lost or run away. Funds from the licenses go to pay for the Ashtabula County Dog Warden and local shelters.
