4/14 - Photo Taking Gets Underway

While technically not a photograph, there are pictures being taken of all county property. Pictometry, a company specializing in aerial imagery, has begun the long process of flying over the entire county collecting images. Once finished, the data gets analyzed and delivered to the Auditor by late spring to early summer.

The aerial images form the foundation of our GIS system, an invaluable resource for everything from recreation use to economic development. They help us assess property values more accurately, but they are also used by thousands of other people, businesses and government offices.
