JEFFERSON – Ashtabula County Auditor Scott Yamamoto announced that the Auditor’s Office has updated its Levy Estimator to help voters prepare before early voting begins on October 8, 2025. This year’s ballots include 36 local levies countywide.

For questions about specific levy purposes, voters are encouraged to attend meetings of their local officials.

Of the 36 levies, 14 are tax increase requests to voters (Additional, Replacement, and Renewal with an Increase.  The other 22 levies are renewals that do not increase taxes.

New Levies: Dorset Township is seeking a 3.5-mill fire levy. Hartsgrove Township and Monroe Township are each seeking a new 2-mill fire levy, while Pierpont Township is seeking a 0.5-mill levy for cemetery operations. Ashtabula Area City Schools has placed a 3.82-mill bond levy on the ballot, and Geneva Area City Schools is requesting a 1.96-mill bond levy for a stadium project. In addition, Geneva Area City Schools has passed a resolution to reduce an existing bond levy by 1 mill beginning in calendar year 2026. Residents should contact the respective Township or School District directly for clarification on the intended purpose of these levies.

Replacement Levies: Jefferson Township Road & Bridge 1.5-mil levy, Plymouth Township Fire & EMS 1.0-mil, Plymouth Township Road & Bridge 3.0-mil, Rome Township (excl Roaming Shores) Road & Bridge 2.0-mil, Windsor Township Road & Bridge 1.0-mil, Windsor Township Fire 2.0-mil and 2.5-mil.

Renewal Levy with an Increase: Richmond Township Fire & EMS 1.5-mil.
