County Auditor David Thomas to Host Historical Property Searching During COVID Zoom Session
Jefferson- Ashtabula County Auditor David Thomas announced an upcoming virtual education session focused on historical research and tools from the Auditor’s Office residents can use at home during the pandemic. The session will be held on Friday, October 23rd from noon to 12:30pm on zoom and recorded on the Auditor’s website.
“While folks are home or unable to travel to the courthouse and other spots of research, we are happy to share resources and ideas for residents to use in looking up historical information,” explained Auditor Thomas.
Auditor staff members Denise Hodges and Deb Mohney will walk attendees through the steps of searching the history of properties including residential and commercial parcels from the safety of their homes. “Our staff has a wealth of knowledge on historical research that can be very useful for interested residents,” shared Auditor David Thomas. “If you are interested in history and are curious where best to begin, our office can get you started during this session or by reaching out anytime.”
Other topics will include information on how to look up property transfer records, construction type, changes in property structures, important dates in the life of a property, where to find other records, examples of successful historical searches, and much more.
RSVPS are required to receive zoom information and limited to the first 100 respondents. Please contact Auditor David Thomas to receive your link at 440-576-3785 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
